Admission Notice for Academic session of 2014-2015
The Department of Industrial & Management Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur offers a two year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The two year full-time program spreads over a four semester course work. The course work includes compulsory, specialization and elective courses along with special studies in the area of participant’s interest. Specializations offered in MBA include sectorial areas of Service Management and Manufacturing Management and functional areas of Operations, Systems, Marketing, and Finance.
Qualifying Examination: To apply for admission to the MBA program of the Department of Industrial & Management Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur for the academic session of 2014-2015, an applicant must appear for the CAT 2013 examination conducted by IIMs. For further information about CAT 2013, please visit the link: www.catiim.in
Eligibility
For GN and OBC applicants
a) Overall CAT-2013 score of 85 percentile and above.
b) 65% and above in Class X and Class XII examinations.
c) B. Tech., B. Sc. Engineering, B.E. or B. Arch. (Mathematics in Class XII) with aggregate of 65% or a CPI of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
For SC and ST applicants
a) Overall CAT-2013 score of 75 percentile and above.
b) 55% and above in Class X and Class XII examinations.
c) B. Tech., B. Sc. Engineering, B.E. or B. Arch. (Mathematics in Class XII) with aggregate of 55% or a CPI of 5.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally. They have to complete all the requirements of the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.
How to Apply
Candidates who fulfill the above stated eligibility criteria can apply to the MBA program at IIT Kanpur by filling an online application form and sending a demand draft in favour of Registrar, IIT Kanpur payable at Kanpur. The application fees for General and OBC candidates is Rs 1500/- and SC/ST/PH is Rs. 750/-. Female candidates would be exempted from paying application fees to apply for the MBA program at IIT Kanpur. A candidate can apply to the MBA program only through online application process after CAT results are declared.
