The School of Design is a multidisciplinary venture aspiring to promote courses from different avenues of design. The School is a Self Financing Institution of the University of Mysore.

Applications are invited for admission to the following courses for the academic year 2014-2015

BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE (B.Arch)

Eligibility for Admission
Qualifying Exam
a. 12th Standard/Pre-university course or equivalent with Minimum 50% or above, 45% or above for OBC, SC and ST (Maths and English compulsory)
or
b. 10+3 Diploma (Architecture, Civil & Interior Design) or equivalent recognised by Central/ State Governments with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
or
c. International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
or
d. Dip in Interior Design (completed at The University School of Design, University of Mysore (UOM) only with minimum 50% aggregate marks (course is discontinued from academic year 2013-14, admission only for students admitted till academic year 2012-13)

Aptitude Test
a. National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by ‘Council of Architecture’ through academic unit ‘National Institute of Advanced studies in Architecture’ (NIASA) with Min 40% (as per prevalent NATA regulation)
b. Any other Aptitude Test approved by Human Resource Department (HRD) Ministry, GOI

Mode of Admission: Aptitude Test (NATA: Min Marks: 80/200)

Criteria for Selection:
(i) 50% of Qualifying Examination (Aggregate)
(ii) 50% of Aptitude Test (NATA)

MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE-URBAN DESIGN (M.ARCH)

Eligibility:
a. B.Arch or any other equivalent as per Council of Architecture (COA) with Minimum 50% aggregate for all categories including OBC, SC and ST
or
b. Dip in Architecture (equivalent to B.Arch – 5 yrs course – recognized by Council of Architecture )

Mode of Admission:
a. Candidates shall be selected on the basis of Merit. Merit shall be determined on the basis of candidates’ performance in the qualifying Examination.
b. Entrance examination shall be conducted only if the application received is more than the approved intake.
c. If entrance examination is conducted, then the merit list shall be prepared giving equal weightage to 50% weightage to qualifying examination (aggregate) & 50% weightage to the marks secured in Entrance examination.

Admission of candidates from selected list Monday, 7th July 2014 to Thursday, 10th July 2014 between 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Registration of Candidates from waiting list Friday, 11th July 2014 between 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.
Selection of candidates from waiting list [4] Friday, 11th July 2014 at 2.00 p. m.
Admission of candidates from waiting list Friday, 11th July 2014 at 2.30 p. m.
Commencement of the Semester Monday, 2 1 st July 2014 from 1 0.3 0 a.m. onwards

The Prospectus and the application form are available at the office on payment of Rs. 600/- in DD drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, University of Mysore” payable at “Mysore”. Outstation candidates may include Rs. 75/- for postal charges.
