panjab universityApplications are invited for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB, New Delhi) sponsored Research Project entitled “Isolation of novel alkalophilic laccase producing bacteria: Biobleaching (delignification) of wheat straw rich soda pulp and screening of cost effective laccase mediator system (LMS)“.

The project is tenable up to one year & probable further extension of two years is contingent to progress of the work. The application on plain paper giving detailed biodata along with attested copies of the testimonials should reach the undersigned by 18 Nov. 2013 by 5:00 pm. The interview shall be held on 22 Nov. 2013 at 11:00 am in the office of Coordinator, Biotechnology Branch, UIET, Sec. 25-B, Panjab University, Chandigarh. No T.A. & D.A are permissible for appearing in the interview.

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech. in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Biophysics with at least 55% marks. The selected candidate with NET qualified for lectureship will be paid Rs. 12000/p.m + HRA. A candidate who has qualified NET with fellowship will be paid Rs. 16000/p.m + HRA.

Desirable: Prior knowledge of microbial enzymes and isolation of bacteria/fungi will be preferable.
