IITM Summer Fellowship Programme – 2018

The IITM – Summer Fellowship Programme of two months with stipend is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high quality academic research among young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students through a goal oriented summer mini-project undertaken at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Eligibility: Candidates pursuing Third Year of B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg) / Integrated M.E. / M.Tech. programme, First Year of ME / M.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.A, MBA with outstanding academic background in terms of high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply, highlighting their academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained. [IIT students are not eligible to apply].

Period of the Project: Duration of the programme may commence from 16th May 2018 to 15th July 2018. (Schedule may be flexible to suit student’s convenience.)

Stipend: A sum of Rs.6000/- per month will be given as a stipend for a maximum period of 2 months.

Bonafide Certificate: Letter issued by the Head of the Institution certifying that you are a bonafide student. .

Sanskriti – Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship – 2014

The Sanskriti Pratishthan invites applications for its annual Smt Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship in Indian Classical Music and Dance from young artists who wish to contribute towards enriching the art form. The scheme will be managed by the Sanskriti Pratishthan, which has been giving similar awards and fellowships for arts, performing arts, culture, media and social activism over the past 30 years.

Objective
The objective of the Fellowship is to encourage promising young artists to develop their potential and perfect their skills by providing them the resources and time to dedicate to the art. The Fellowship carries a grant of Rs 1,00,000.

Eligibility
The Fellowship is open to Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian Classical Music (Vocal or Instrumental) or Dance (any form or choreography). Proposals that further the objectives of the program are welcome. The candidate should have at least some years of formal training in Indian classical Music or Dance. The fellow would be required to have given at least 2-3 solo performances to his/her credit.

The candidate will be facilitated to take guidance from a source unavailable to him/her to enhance his existing style. It can be a residency programme for a period of minimum three months, which can be spread over the period of ten months.

How to Apply
Candidates should send a two – page CV, a CD of their recitals and a write up of approximately 500 words explaining their project. The project proposal should explain how the fellowship will provide an opportunity to express their creativity and technical competence and expand the repertoire of their style.

Full postal and telephonic contact details together with any E-mail id should be submitted to facilitate contact. Few samples of previous work, project or performances should be submitted. The names and contact addresses/telephones of two referees should also be sent.

The application should bear the title ‘Sanskriti – Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship’ on the envelope when sent by post.

LAST DATE OF APPLICATION – Applications received before 30th June will be considered for fellowship of that year.

Rajya Sabha Fellowships 2014

Rajya Sabha Fellowships

Applications are invited for two Rajya Sabha Fellowships on Parliamentary Studies from academics with aptitude for conducting an in depth inquiry and research on different aspects of parliamentary democracy in India.

The proposals received shall be placed before the Search & Advisory Committee (SAC) which will recommend a panel of the names to the Hon’ble Chairman, Rajya Sabha. The SAC may also suggest on its own name(s) of scholars for the Fellowships.

The tenure of the Fellowships will be one year. The Fellows will be required to get the research output published in the form of a book/monograph. The Fellowship grant is Rs. 3 lakh to be paid in installments. The person selected, if already employed, will be required to produce a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from his/her institution for taking up the assignment.

Indian Council of Historical Research Senior Academic Fellowships 2014-15

SENIOR ACADEMIC FELLOWSHIPS (S.A.F.), 2014-2015

Applications are invited in the prescribed form so as to reach the undersigned on or before 31.01.2014 from candidates for the award of Senior Academic Fellowships (SAF) of the value of Rs. 40000/- p.m. with a contingency grant of Rs.40000/- p.a.
A. The term of the Fellowship shall be for a maximum period of 2 years, extendable by 1 more year in special circumstances, if recommended by the Research Projects Committee.
B. The maximum number of Senior Academic Fellowships (SAF) available for the year 2014-2015 is 10 (ten) only.

1 Senior scholars* are invited to submit research proposals which will be refereed by experts appointed by the ICHR.
2 On the basis of the experts’ assessment, selected candidates shall be required to make a presentation for half an hour on the proposed subject of research.
3 The award of the Fellowship will be decided by a Committee of specialists, on the basis of the experts’ evaluation of the proposal and the presentation made by the candidate.
4 The presentation by the applicant will be held at the ICHR’s office at New Delhi.
5 Second class railway or bus fare chargeable by the shortest routes from Railway Station / Bus Stand nearest to their normal place of residence or from where they actually perform the journey, whichever is nearer to the venue of presentation, will be reimbursed to eligible candidates on production of ticket(s), provided the distance traveled is not less than 30 kms.

Maulana Azad National Fellowship For Minority Students

OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Fellowship is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M. Phil and Ph.D. The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses. The fellowship holders under this Fellowship will be known as Ministry of Minority Affairs scholars.

ELIGIBILITY:
A candidate has to fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for award of this fellowship

(i) He/she should belong to one of the minority communities notified under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
(ii) He/she should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D courses in University/Academic Institution by fulfilling conditions of admission of that University/Institution, subject to provisions of the Fellowship as per advertisement of UGC.
(iii) The minority community students once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to benefits under any other source, Central or State Government or any other body like UGC for the same study.
(iv) Prior clearance of NET/SLET examination will not be a prerequisite for award of Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students for M.Phil/Ph.D.
(v) In order to qualify for the award of JRF/ SRF the UGC norms would be applicable at pre-M.Phil and pre-Ph.D stage, respectively, including the minimum score of 50% at post graduate level.

Duration of Fellowship
These are integrated five year fellowships for M.Phil & Ph.D subject to academic criteria in force for selection to Ph.D programme.
The duration of fellowship is as under:

Admissibility of JRF and SRF: 2 Years

Name of the Course: M.Phil + Ph.D
Maximum duration: 5 years
Admissibility of JRF and SRF: Remaining 3 years(SRF)

Amount of Fellowship:
The rate of fellowship for JRF and SRF will be at par with the UGC fellowship as amended from time to time. Presently these rates are as follows

Fellowship @ Rs.16,000/- p.m. for initial two years (JRF)
@ Rs.18,000/- p.m. for remaining tenure (SRF)
Contingency for Arts & Commerce @ Rs.10, 000/- p.a. for initial two years.
@ Rs.20, 500/- p.a. for remaining three years
Contingency for Sciences & Engineering @ Rs.12, 000/- p.a. for initial two years
@ Rs.25, 000/- p.a. for remaining three years.
Departmental assistance @ Rs.3,000/- p.a. per student to the host institution for providing infrastructure
Escorts/Reader Assistance @ Rs.2,000/- p.m. in cases of physically and visually challenged candidates

IIST Ph.D. Programme – July 2011
